Nailexperiments review Clionadh Cosmetics

Hey all, another makeup post today - it's gunna be blinding!

Back in June I attended Indie Expo Canada and received 2 freebies from the Canadian brand, Clionadh Cosmetics. They offer 100% cruelty free and vegan products - amazing right? Clionadh Cosmetics is run by two sisters (Leigh Cavanaugh and Maggie Cavanaugh) in Toronto specializing in unique hand made cosmetics: highlighters and blush toppers created to suit all skin tones. Some products can also be doubled to use on the eyes or lips even!

I received a mini sample size of Spark, which is from their Afterschock collection - high voltage pressed pigments. The second item is Cermait, a full sized highlighter from their Diety series - this was a VIP goodie bag product. Cermait wasn't exclusive to the VIP bag as it's available for purchase on their website.

Let's get onto the swatches and review shall we?

A cream base with a vibrant pale gold reflect

My swatch shows Cermait applied with my finger on my forearm using light pressure.
This highlighter is seriously BLINDING and love it! It's hard to photograph how truly 'highlighty' something is, but seriously, this is insane! This product can be used on the eyes, lips and face.
The pan measures at 44mm and comes packaged in a fitting protective envelope sleeve (refer to header photo up top).

Spark is described as the perfect pink iridescent, not too red and not too purple.

My swatch shows Spark applied with my finger on my forearm using very light pressure.
This highlighter is insanity in a pan and am obsessed with the pink colour reflect Spark gives! As an iridescent highlighter, it has an invisible base and a bright coloured reflect. This was a mini 10mm pan sample size but the regular pan size measures at 36mm. A little smaller than the above Cermait, but still a great size! This can be used on the face, eyes, lips and body.

Final thoughts:

This was my first time trying items from Clionadh Cosmetics and I've got to say, I'm very impressed with how buttery and smooth these two products are! They're located in the same hometown as me, Toronto! It's truly hard to photograph how shifty and 'highlighty' something can be in photos, but these don't disappoint. I'm very much into a super highlighted face and Cermait will now be a top shelf highlighter pick for me! I'm very picky with makeup, especially highlighters and I'm seriously very impressed with how effortlessly and beautifully these apply on the skin. You can build them up to preferred intensity - for me, I want to make sure I can be seen from outer space lol! The pans come packaged in a fitting cardboard/paper envelope sleeve and they recommend storing them in a cool, preferably sealed place. Magnetic pallets are also recommended. I would personally prefer them to come in a fitting compact because I don't own a magnetic pallet - something I'll be looking into though. They do however store nicely in the sleeve + I keep my makeup stored in closed drawers, so I'm sure it'll be fine. Whenever I travel, I like packing minimally and would prefer packing a compact vs an entire magnetic pallet. I love how versatile these products are as they can be used on the face, eyes, lips and body. As much as I love highlighting the high points of my face, I equally love a shimmery eyelid and will definitely be playing with these in some upcoming looks. I did play with Spark and Cermait on my face without makeup, didn't photograph because well - it's not a pretty sight LOL! I love that Clionadh Cosmetics offers cruelty free, vegan, talc and paraben free products. They have a really cool section on their website where they sell one off's and they will even work with you to make your dream custom shade! I'll definitely be purchasing from this brand in the future and love supporting small businesses - especially my fellow Canadians!
