ColourPop Yes, Please Pallet Swatches and Review

ColourPop Yes, Please eyeshadow pallet swatches

A local friend of mine placed an order with ColourPop for the Yes, Please pallet and ended up getting two of them due to the high demand of this particular launch. She raves about ColourPop's pressed eyeshadows - I trust her judgments when it comes to makeup and offered to purchase the extra pallet she purchased.

Prior to this I haven't tried any of the ColourPop pressed eyeshadows, so this was a true first impression for myself! The only ColourPop eyeshadows I've tried were a few matte shades from the Super Shock range. I wasn't entirely a fan of the matte shades as I found them hard to blend with a brush - not a good time! I figured one day ColourPop would eventually come out with pressed eyeshadows and they finally did just that! Not that these are 'new new' but still pretty new - at least to me they are.

Final thoughts:

I was really amazed at how much pigment is jam packed into these shadows! Like I mentioned above, all swatches were applied using a flat eyeshadow brush (ELF) vs a typical finger swatch. Finger swatches are nice, but lets be real - y'all want the real tea on these shadows right? I got you booboo! Finger swatches will always show to be most pigmented but won't always translate that way on our eyes. As I was filling in my little washi tape rectangles, I was really impressed with how easily they blended out! The first two swatches up top: Bling and Louie look almost identical. I would have preferred a completely different shade for a true variety but still think both are absolutely gorgeous - even if they look almost identical. As you can see, my skin tone is on the fair side and find it challenging to find a reliable 'nude' all over the lid kinda colour and LOVE how pigmented Full Zip is! Some people might find it a drawback as the pallet doesn't come with a mirror, but it doesn't bother me as I never used those mirrors to do my makeup. I always wear glasses and when I do my makeup, I need to have a mirror right up to my face or I can't see details properly. I dream of having a pretty vanity with those fancy lightbulb mirrors, but lets be real, I can't do my makeup that far away lol! The names of each shadow can be found on the back of the pallet itself, very convenient! The pallet retails for $16USD, which breaks it down to $1.30USD per shadow - that's a freaking steal considering their single pressed eyeshadows are $5USD. I'm really impressed with the quality of this pallet and can't wait for the other two pallets I have in transit to arrive! The same friend talked me into more pallets - enablers all around I tell ya! I can't even lie because I'm not mad about it :p
