China Glaze Nail Polish Swatch & Review for Chalk Me Up, My Sweet Lady and Bourgeois Beige

*press samples

Hey all, welcome back! Today I have swatches of China Glaze nail polishes in the shades: Chalk me up, My sweet lady and Bourgeois Beige. I had these sent to me courtesy of Nail Polish Canada for review purposes.

You can find the full collection of China Glaze nail polishes on Nail Polish Canada here

Swatch info: All photo's were taken in outdoor lighting to provide the most accurate colour pay off and I used Cutex quick dry top coat.

Chalk me up is described as a sky blue creme and my swatches show this vivid beauty in three thin coats + top coat. You can apply this in two generous coats versus my three thin coats, but I find three thin coats dry quicker versus two thicker coats. The formula is a tad on the runny side, so when applying too thick of a coat you may experience some cuticle flooding. This definitely looks brighter on the nail versus whats shown in the bottle and I didn't mind what so ever! I've actually been on the hunt for a really vivid sky blue and this nails it! My skin tone is on the fair side and this really pops on me, I love it! I can see this working for just about every skin tone and think this would pop exceptionally well paired with tan or darker skin!

My Sweet Lady is described as peony pink creme and my swatches show this in three thin coats + top coat. Just like the above Chalk Me Up, this can be applied in two thicker coats versus three thin coats. Again, I feel three thinner coats dry quicker versus two thicker coats. Also, the formula is a bit on the runny side, so I suggest being careful with application to not flood the cuticles. I experienced a bit of flooding but didn't find it hard to clean up! I'm an absolute sucker for pastel pinks and this one is definitely something I'll be using quite often! I feel pastel pinks are just so timeless, classic, dainty and incredibly soft and feminine. I love how this pops against my fair skin tone and it's a perfect all year round shade!

Bourgeois Beige

Bourgeois Beige is described as cool toned almond creme and my swatches show this in two medium coats + top coat. I found the formula on this to be a little more opaque in just two coats versus the above two polishes. I feel finding the perfect nude nail polish is just as challenging to find as finding a perfect red lipstick. Nudes can carry so many different undertones and find they usually drown my pale skin out, which don't really do much for me. However, this one being more so on the cool side I feel compliments me really well and I actually really like it. That's really rare for me to say when it comes to nudes because I don't wear them that often, but I love this one! This doesn't blend in with my skin tone, pops nicely but not too over the top - perfect for the office!
