ColourPop Fem Rosa She Shadow Pallet

Swatches and Review

ColourPop Karrueche Fem Rosa She eye shadow swatches and review

Hey friends, welcome back! Today I have swatches and a review for the ColourPop Fem Rosa She eye shadow pallet. In my previous ColourPop review post for the Yes Please pallet (can be found here), I mentioned I had a few more pallets on the way - this was one of them!

This pallet is described as soft mauve tones for a romantic look - warm tones.

My swatches show a comparison of indoor, outdoor and dim lighting. All shadows were swatched on my forearm using a flat eye shadow brush. Keep in mind, the colour pay off you see on screen will vary depending on which monitor or device your viewing this post from.

I also used Polished Vino Makeup Stencils for crisp and clean swatches. I used the multi thin rectangles with a strip of washi tape down the centre to divid the rectangles.

Indoor (LED ring light):

Outdoor (gloomy overcast lighting):

For this photo, I edited the brightness level down to mimic what these shadows would look like during the evening or when indoors/outdoors with dim lighting:

Final Thoughts:

This pallet is definitely pigmented, however, I did experience some fall out. I tapped my brush to remove excess and had no issues for the most part with application. I say 'for the most part' because the shade Gal was a bit difficult to build up. It seems it almost has micro glitters in it and felt a little chunkier than the other metallics. It's such a gorgeous shade that has a beautiful duo chrome effect and will definitely be using this regardless of my issues with building it up. The shade Missy, you might be able to tell but it was a little patchy. I tried swiping my brush back and forth for an even application but was struggling doing so. Damsel was another tricky one for me and found it a tad patchy.

As mentioned above, I swatched these eye shadows on my forearm using a flat shadow brush. When it comes to metallics, I would usually use my finger when applying it on the lid versus a brush. To intensify metallic shades, I would take a flat shadow brush, sprits it with a setting spray and dip into the shade while the brush is still damp. When you apply it like that, it usually intensifies metallic shades to the next level! I did test that theory with these and believe me, they popped! I love a metallic/foiled lid and mattes in the crease - I steer away from using metallics in the crease, not my cup of tea. However, it is for some which is totally cool!

Keep in mind, the way the swatches look against my skin may not look the same on yours. It'll vary between different skin tones. Click here for the listing on the ColourPop website to see comparison swatches on different skin tones. The photographed pallet in the link I just mentioned doesn't exactly look the same for me in person but it's kinda to be expected.

This was a limited edition pallet in collaboration with Karrueche and unsure if they will be restocking this pallet - I'm sure they will eventually. This pallet cost me $16USD, which breaks is down to $1.30USD per shadow - not bad right? Me being a Canadian, I did pay a little more due to the conversion rate but it was still worth it. Me and my friend made one order together for a few things and ended up getting dinged with customs, which sucked. I really adore the packaging of this pallet, super cute and love the floral details. I also like the gold metallic writing on the front of the pallet, compliments the red roses very nicely. I appreciate how they've included all the names of the shadows on the back of the pallet. No mirror in this pallet, but I don't really care for mirrors in pallets. Almost all ColourPop's products are vegan, for the exception for a few. They've listed the non vegan products in their FAQ section (click here) and scroll down to the bottom where it says 'Are your products vegan?'

All in all, I think it's a great pallet and typically gravitate to warm sultry shades like these. I did a quick eye look and found they blended really nicely on the lid despite the fall out issues. I preferred using the metallic shades wet, as I personally like a really foiled look. The only thing I feel this pallet is lacking is a light beige all over the lid colour. I like having shadow under my brow bone but not into metallic's for under the brow.

That about wraps up this post and hope you enjoyed it! Do you have this pallet? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts down below in the comments =)
