Femme Fatale Fire Lily Collection Swatches and Review

femme fatale fire lily collection swatches

** PRESS SAMPLES **

Hi friends, welcome back! I'm excited to be sharing the newest collection from Femme Fatale, the Fire Lily collection. This collection is compromised of 8 unique and complementary colours, in their standard of mixed-finishes from scattered holographic, flakes and thermals.

This collection is inspired by the four Pellinor books, a fantasy series by Australian author Alison Croggon. The story mainly revolves about the character of adolescent girl Maerad, who was forced into slavery along with her mother as a child, after the sacking of the Bard school of Pellinor. One of Sohpie's personal favourite fantasy series, perfect for young and old alike!

The Fire Lily collection will be released presale between May 1st 9am AEST- 5th 9am closing at 9pm AEST and will be back for several restocks in addition to being available at stockists whom wish to carry the colours.

Let's get onto the swatches!

Femme Fatale Triple Tongued swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Triple Tongued

Triple Tongued is described as an aged gold with a hint of olive, full of holographic particles and holographic flakes.

My swatch of Triple Tongued is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. I found the formula to be smooth and offered for a great application. This one dried down a bit on the satin side and would highly recommend sealing with a glossy top coat to bring the liveliness of the holographic particles to life!

Triple Tongued will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Treesong swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Treesong

Tree song is described as a warm toned brown with the barest hint of a red shift, filled with an array of silver holographic particles, silver and gold holo glitters, green iridescent glitters, copper glitters, matte pastel pink glitters and more.

My swatch of Treesong is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. Depending on application, I would recommend anywhere between 2-3 coats. I also suggest using a quality top coat to to seal this polish in, as it does dry down with a bit of texture due to the glitters. I appreciate the unique combination of glitter this nail polish offers and is unlike anything that is currently in my collection!

Treesong will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Inner Dreaming swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Inner Dreaming

Inner Dreaming is described as a brown (cold) to clear (warm) thermal with pink glow and pink/purple to green shifting iridescent flakes. Given that this is a colour-clear thermal, visible nail line will be apparent in the warm stages. It is also recommended to apply using thin coats due to the flakes.

My swatch of Inner Dreaming is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. I would recommend anywhere between 2-3 coats depending on application. Inner Dreaming dries down to a satin matte finish and recommend sealing with a glossy top coat to really bring out the elements of this beautiful nail polish.

Inner Dreaming will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Fire Lily swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Fire Lily

Fire Lily is described as the warm version of The Mermaid's Tail. Fire Lily is jam-packed full of red flakes and glitter into a slightly blue-tined jelly base, rounded off with a bit of the wannabe-Unicorn Pee pigment that flashes from rd to green. It is recommended to apply 3-4 coats for full opacity, or less if you prefer sponging. Femme Fatale is aiming for the blue jelly to be a bit visibly, but this means your nail line may be too.

My swatch of Fire Lily is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. Like the previous paragraphs states, the base is quite sheer and feel this would be easiest sponged on or even used as a topper over a similar blue based nail polish. Due to the sheer base, it did take 3 coats and even so, I didn't find the coverage to be that great. I had to do some minimal glitter placement along the nail line to mask the sheerness as best as possible. This nail polish is incredibly shifty, please refer to my swatch photo's down below.

Fire Lily will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Nameless One swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Nameless One

Nameless One is described as a dark blue jelly filled with fiery red chrome flakes, reddish pigment, silver holographic glitters and the wannabe-Unicorn Pee pigment which flakes from red to green.

My swatch of Nameless One is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. I was actually quite happy with how this looked in 2 coats and went for a 3rd to see if it would add any depth. If I wore this again, I would definitely stick with the 2 coats. This is hands down one of my top favourites from this collection!

Nameless One will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale The Mark of Darkness swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - The Mark of Darkness

The Mark of Darkness is described as a gorgeous royal blue-toned purple base with a soft pink-green multi chrome shifting glow.

My swatch of The Mark of Darkness is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. I would recommend anywhere between 2-3 coats depending on application. This polish does dry down on the matte side and recommend pairing with a glossy top coat to really allow the beautiful elements to pop!

The Mark of Darkness will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Fates Bound Together swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Fates Bound Together

Fates Bound Together is described as a blue (warm) to purple (cold) thermal with a pink shift and red iridescent flakes. It is recommended to apply thin coats due to the flakes.

My swatch of Fates Bound Together is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy. Depending on application, I would say anywhere between 2-3 coats. This thermal is hands down my favourite thermal out of my entire collection of nail polishes - it's an absolute gem!

Fates Bound Together will be available for $13.00 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.

Femme Fatale Winterking swatch from the Fire Lily collection

Femme Fatale - Winterking

Winterking is described as a wintry pearl white base with turquoise shine, filled with black holographic glitters and blue iridescent glitter accents. It is said that this one is designed to be more sheer so inlayers up really nicely with the black glitters, but you can wear it over white/grey if you prefer. A glossy top coat is recommended to seal in the glitters.

My swatch of Winterking is shown in 3 coats, paired with 1 glossy coat of the Cuticula Timeless Top Coat in the scent Rock Candy.

Winterking will be available for $11.50 RRP before GST on the Femme Fatale website.
